Randy Ryan

Acclaimed as one of the most promising young pianist in his home country of Indonesia, Randy Ryan has performed frequently as a chamber musician and as a soloist around the world, with recent performances in United States, Italy, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, and various cities in Indonesia. He made his concerto debut at the age of 10 and had since then appeared as a soloist with the Jakarta Concert Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Yayasan Musik Jakarta Orchestra, and Jakarta Sinfonietta.
As an avid chamber musician, he performed Bartok’s Sonatas for Two Pianos and Percussion in Juilliard Chamber festival 2014 and he recently participated in Juilliard’s Chamber Festival 2017, where he performed Mieczylaw Weinberg’s Piano Quintet and was coached by the world-renowned cellist Joel Krosnick. In summer of 2018, Randy was chosen as one of the piano fellows at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, and Kneisel Hall Chamber music Festival in Maine. In 2016, Randy was one of six participants at Piano Academy Eppan, Italy under the guidance of Pavel Gillilov. Randy also received an opportunity to visit Paris and Poland to give concerts and to study with the legendary pianist Paul Badura-Skoda, where he praised Randy for his “poetic nature and a warm touch from such one of the most promising young artist.”
Randy has had numerous of interesting performance experiences. Recently, he was asked to perform a double concert for Violin and Piano by Mendelssohn with the Jakarta Sinfonietta. During the, same time he was asked to hold a concert tour-press talk and recorded his first album that would be released nationwide very soon. Randy had his Carnegie Hall Debut in November 2016, when he was asked to play in a choir ensemble for one of the richest lady in Indonesia, and he performed couple of solo piano pieces by the renowned Indonesian composer Jaya Suprana. Randy also premiered a piano concerto composed by the Indonesian composer Singgih Sanjaya. In 2010, Randy performed the entire cycle of Saint-Saents’ Carnaval of Animals while 30 kids from the resonanz children choir danced to the music. When Randy was 11, he was also asked to perform as an opener for the world-renowned French string quartet group Quatuor Diotima. This upcoming spring, Randy will be collaborating with the entire studio of Leon Fleisher in doing a 10-hour non stop cycle of the entire 32 Beethoven sonatas.
Randy graduated from the Juilliard School in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and he is currently a graduate student at the Peabody Conservatory with a full scholarship studying with the legendary pianist and teacher Leon Fleisher.
